Dear Future Publisher:
Thanks for considering The Homesteader's publishing business opportunity. We have been offering very low cost opportunities to help people publish their own Homesteaders since 1993.
You can review all of our publishing opportunity information online right now! Just click on the "first package" or "second package" links on the main page. If you would prefer a mailed copy, you may also request it.
There is a lot of information on this website that explains our concept. But because things can change and improvements are often made, I am going to post this note to indicate some of our major changes. I hope you will find this useful!
OUR NEW MARKETING VIDEO
Take a look at our new 3-minute marketing video, which is on the left sidebar. If you become a local publisher, you can use a local version of this video to introduce our concept to your local business owners. We recommend sending a link to the video when you do email prospecting.
The video explains our publication and introduces some important concepts that they need to understand for you to sell them advertising, namely the value of branding and repetition.
Our greatest strength is that we can bring new customers to a local business. Our weakness is that this takes time. A consumer doesn't typically see an ad once and immediately respond. They need to become familiar with the local business before they will buy.
So we need to educate people that, over time, The Homesteader will be a great return on investment because a new customer is truly valuable, both for what they purchase now, their future purchases, and their future referrals. Once we get this concept across, we will usually make the sale.
This video takes advantage of the Internet age and allows one to more effectively market the concept to local business owners.
COMPANY TRAINING NOW ON VIDEO!
We are now offering training via video! We have recorded our recent training classes and have supplemented them with additional video on answering sales objections, and with our training manual which is available online, we feel that local publishers can get very good training at home without having to make the two-day trip to Massachusetts.
We will be available for a lengthy question-and-answer session after you've watched the training videos to answer any further questions you may have. And publishers typically will email questions as they begin to launch their papers and that support will be unaffected.
A side benefit is that any sales employees that you hire can also watch the videos and your time training new hires should be greatly reduced.
If a licensee still wishes to visit us in Massachusetts, that can be arranged.
OUR NEW ADVERTISING GUARANTEE
We are offering some free advertising for customers who run 12 consecutive ads of a 1/4 page or larger who might be unhappy with their results after their run. The guarantee asks the customer to work with us to see if we can determine if the ad really worked, and if they are still unhappy, they would get three free months. If you wish to offer a similar guarantee in your area, you may do so. We hope you will find that this will give your advertisers great confidence in our concept, help you sell larger ads, and will end up improving the response because your advertisers should end up happier if they advertise consistently.
If someone takes advantage of your offer, they may end up getting further response during their free months and may change their mind. If not, the door may be open for future advertising because you have given them something and left on good terms.
